So this song pretty much works with the sermon on Wednesday at my church. I and the rest of the church was challenged to rise up - stop being a lazy christian (if a true christian could ever be lazy... Jesus sure wasn't) and STAND UP. Pray. Fast. Reach for the lost. I heard this song on the radio as I drove to work today and was reminded. I need to listen to the advice Jesus keeps throwing in my face :)

In other news, I am leaving tonight to go with Alison to Dekalb UPC's ladies' conference. Really excited - I love trips where just Ali and I go. I'll probably let you know what I think about it more later. :)

Sorry for the lack of postings. I got my sewing machine and I totally stopped paying attention to stuff. but! the sewing machine (and organza fabric I have recently acquired) will prove to be the beginnings of beautiful pictures for you to look at, and I would always rather look at pictures instead of reading words.

I made two shirts for me the last few nights, not to mention I made one of my friends a denim skirt with yellow and white polka dot inset and a matching shirt... and my sister is now the proud owner of a denim skirt that I created out of pants for her. YAY! I'm becoming domestic!! Now if I could just cook, and do my homework, and all that other stuff I need to do...

To do list: (thanks, Riss, for this idea)
1. EDRG homework - Lesson plans, lesson plans, lesson plans!
2. Find more sunset eva sandals from Payless - they are extremely comfortable but none of our Paylesses have anymore... ARG!!
3. Laundry
4. Check out new Passport information and fill out application (AYC mission trip next summer)
5. PRACTICE CAMP SONGS!!!!
6. Convice the boyfriend and his best friend to stay for senior camp...
7. Look at apartment Saturday (yes, I may be moving in with a fellow education major)

I actually made a pasta carbonara. with a recipe!!! It was pretty fantastic. Not the actual meal. The making of the meal was fantastic. The actual meal was alright. But making it made me happy!

Women of Faith!

I'll be at the Women of Faith Conference this weekend in Conyers, GA, leading worship and selling the newest additions to Button and Bows. You can order anything you see on etsy, so don't worry about it being sold out at the conference - I can duplicate all of these easily. Pray for me that I can lead worship effectively and help people enter into God's throneroom. I'm nervous... Alison isn't in charge and that's scary... I'm only good when Alison's telling me what to do! :) Pray for the services that they would be anointed and impactful for the women attending. And show up if you can!

If there is one book you must read this spring, I recommend Crazy Love by Francis Chan. It is an amazing and heartfelt book that challenges how you view Christ's love for you. I am a third of the way in and WOW... my heart and mind have been rocked. So read it!

Georgia Ladies Retreat

This past weekend was Georgia UPCI Ladies Retreat. We raised $124 for Mother's Memorial, which supports missionaries, foreign and in the USA, as well as Tupelo Children's Mansion and New Beginnings. I'm really glad I got to be a part of this, and that I was able to show people what I can do!

Ladies Retreat in general draws a more "mature" audience, and so I was a little disappointed at first with how little business we were doing in comparison to the other booths, but I felt much better after convincing myself that we were the boutique to everyone else's department store... thanks to Alison, Brandon and Matt for helping me get over the sadness! I just have to understand that it's definitely not for everyone. However, I'm glad so many people were able to buy for their younger family members and friends.

We sold a lot of headbands in the end, and I met a lot of cool people:

Terri is in Columbus as well, and she takes denim jeans and makes them into pants. I helped sell at her table, so she is repaying me in love and my own denim jean skirt with a victorian train in the back. When I get it, I'll post some pictures!

Born Again Jeans is the brainchild of Wendy from Fort Oglethorpe. She takes jeans and turns them into adorable skirts with embellishments, fused fabric, ribbon and buttons. I LOVE these skirts and got one in exchange for some wonderful headbands. You can find her on Ebay - user name SkirtLady76 - I think.. I can't remember the numbers!!!

Buttons and Bows update

For all of you who want to get a Button and Bows headband from me either through personal contact or through etsy,

I am going out of town for the weekend, and will not be able to put headbands up until after I'm back on saturday! I was hoping to put some up before I left, but I'm taking all my headbands with me and hoping to sell them for charity at the retreat I'm attending. I will be back up for business Saturday night, with hopefully some good pictures to help you better decide which one fits you best. :) and as always, just let me know what you want, and I'll make it for you!

Seriously... Changed my life. I've never been able to say a song has changed my life... many songs have impacted me, and affected me, but no song has changed my life. The man who wrote this song lied. He told his church and family that, for two years, he had an aggressive form of cancer. He wrote this song, supposedly about this battle with cancer, and people willingly donated money to his family and him so that he could receive the "treatment" he needed. He was lying. He has psychological problems, is seeking help, and is also a porn addict.

I love this song, and no matter what his "disease" is, the fact is, this song resonates with those in need of healing. I believe that while he may have stated the song was about his fake battle with cancer, the truth seems to be God was trying to speak to him about his real addiction - and that He wanted to heal it. I hear it as a cry for help and restoration by the man who needs it so much, just as the rest of us. Such were some of us... liars, manipulators, cheaters, theives, sinners. Let he who is without sin cast that first stone. It will not be me.

No matter who wrote this, no matter what they say or go through... the words ring true. He is my Healer, Deliverer, Best Friend and Savior.

This is what I want in my life... I want to view my life in terms of how it looks to God, and how every action brings me closer or farther away from my Abba. He is so amazing... every day He surprises me again with more grace and more love. I don't know why He loves me but I'm so glad that He does!
